Malaysia is set to see its biggest whisky and spirits event yet this month.
WhiskyPLUS 2018, to be held on July 28, at Hilton Kuala Lumpur, will see around 40 labels of whiskies and spirits on display, with many available for sampling at the day-long event.
Whether you’re a serious whisky connoisseur, a casual aficionado, or a total newbie looking to expand your whisky horizons, this is the event for you.
The event is separated into two sessions (12pm to 4pm and 5pm to 10pm), during which guests can enjoy unlimited tasting in the main tasting room, and also attend masterclasses, drink cocktails at the pop-up bars or savour some exclusive whiskies at the VIP Premier Tasting Room.
There will also be a special Collector’s Corner, featuring an exclusive special selection of purchase-by-the-dram rare, old, and collectible whiskies that’s unprecedented at Malaysian whisky tastings.
Brands to llok forward to include the world’s No. 1 and No. 2 best-selling single malt whisky brands, Glenfiddich and Glenlivet, single cask whisky purveyors The Scotch Malt Whisky Society (SMWS) and The Single Cask (UK), Japanese whiskies Nikka, Akashi, and Iwai, award-winning Indian single malt Paul John, Cambeltown’s unique Hazelburn and Longrow single malts. Irish whiskies Jameson and Bushmills, and rums like Diplomatico Venezuelan rum, Thai favourite Mekhong, and Scottish gins The Botanist and Caorunn.
Tickets are available for either Standard or VIP entry for each of the two sessions. All attendees will receive a complimentary Glencairn-style whisky tasting glass and entry to the main tasting floor. VIP pass holders will receive additional privileges and goodies, such as access to the Premier Tasting Room.
